A cooler and more unpredictable weather pattern is set to dominate Poland this weekend, with no immediate stabilization in sight. Light rains, thunderstorms, and fluctuating temperatures will characterize the coming days.
Weather Forecast for the End of August
From the weekend, colder conditions will prevail across Poland. The next week will not bring stability, with variable weather, including sporadic rainfall, occasional thunderstorms, and temperature fluctuations. Northern regions will experience cooler days, while southern areas will see warmer conditions. According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), skies on Monday will be predominantly cloudy with brief clearings. Light rain is expected in some areas, and thunderstorms may occur in the northeast. Temperatures will remain similar to the weekend, ranging from 16°C in the northeast and mountainous regions to 21°C in the south. Strong winds will further reduce the perceived temperature. On Tuesday, the weather will remain variable, with sunshine alternating with clouds and occasional rain in the north. However, temperatures will rise, especially in the south, reaching up to 24°C there. Wind will still be gusty at times.
Heatwaves Starting on Thursday
Starting Thursday, hot and subtropical air will reach Poland, bringing a heatwave. Light rains and thunderstorms will occur in western regions. Thermometers will show temperatures up to 26°C in the north and as high as 31°C in the south. The heatwave will continue into Friday, with light rainfall affecting the northwest. The coolest conditions will be near the sea, around 22°C, while inland temperatures will range from 24°C in Pomerania to 33°C in the southeast.
Cooling Down Over the Weekend
Saturday will feature moderate cloud cover, which may increase to heavy in some areas. Light rains will occur nationwide, with thunderstorms possible in local regions. The hottest temperatures will be in the southeast and center, from 25°C to 29°C. Other areas will be cooler, ranging from 19°C to 24°C. Winds will intensify and become gusty, with potential bursts reaching 75 km/h during thunderstorms, amplifying the feeling of cold. “On Sunday, the cooling will extend to a larger part of Poland,” predicts IMGW. Cloud cover will remain moderate, with light rains in many areas. Temperatures on the west and north will range from 18°C to 22°C, while other regions will see slightly higher readings, up to 26°C in the southeast. Gusts will persist throughout the weekend.
