Jarosław Kaczyński dismissed the recent poll showing his party’s decline, attributing it to a “powerful hate operation,” during a Monday press conference in Warsaw.
Kaczyński on Reasons for PiS Support Drop
During a Monday press conference at the Office of Law and Justice, Kaczyński was asked about the latest survey that found only 31 % of respondents would vote for the Civic Coalition, while PiS ranked second with 25.5 %. He recalled the 2012‑2013 figures—19 % for PiS and 60 % for the Civic Coalition— and the 2015 election when PiS was elected. He said the party was not considering a coalition or victory, and blamed the dip to a “powerful hate operation.” Kaczyński added that such tactics are effective because they give opponents an overwhelming propaganda advantage.
Clear Lead for Civic Coalition Over PiS in CBOS Poll
The CBOS survey reported a 30.3 % share for Donald Tusk’s Civic Coalition, a 1.5‑point increase from November, and placed PiS at 20.7 %. Confederation stood third with 12.5 %, while the Confederation of the Crown of Poland received 7 %. Other parties garnered 5.2 % (The Left), 3.8 % (Together), 2 % (Poland 2050), and 1.4 % (PSL). A further 0.4 % selected another party, and 14.3 % answered “don’t know” (down from 16.1 % previously). Two‑point‑five percent of respondents declined to answer. The survey used computer‑aided telephone interviews (90 %) and online interviews (10 %) from 1 – 3 December 2025, sampling 1,000 adult Poles.
