Survey Results Show Clear Support
The Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek received strong approval in a public survey, with 74.80% of respondents supporting his work. This translates to 2,755 out of 3,683 total votes.
Only 23.92% of respondents disapproved of his performance, totaling 881 votes. The remaining 1.28% (47 votes) indicated they had no opinion on the matter.
The difference between approval and disapproval was significant, with 1,874 more votes in favor of the Justice Minister.
Background on Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek
Waldemar Żurek, born January 6, 1970, in Chrzanów, is a lawyer and former judge of the District Court in Kraków. He has served as Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General since July 24, 2025, in the third government of Donald Tusk.
Zurek has a long history with the National Council of the Judiciary, where he served from 2010-2018 and acted as a spokesperson. He is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University’s Faculty of Law and Administration and Forestry Technical School in Brynek.
In 2022, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the termination of his term in the National Council of the Judiciary violated the European Convention on Human Rights. Upon assuming the ministerial office in July 2025, he resigned as a judge due to the prohibition of holding these positions simultaneously.
