Irena Rupińska, 54, a Polish entrepreneur linked to the operating companies ZPK Rupińscy and Natrix, died in a fire that broke out on the first floor of a single‑family house in Szumowo on 22 November before 6 p.m. Local authorities posted condolences on Facebook, mourning her and her beloved grandson, and offering support to the family.

Wealth Ranking

In 2016 and 2017 Rupińska and her husband appeared in Forbes’ list of the 100 richest Poles. The 54‑year‑old was ranked 85th with an estimated net worth of 518 million PLN. The couple’s companies, ZPK Szumowo Natrix, opened two new aggregate extraction and production plants in 2014, reaching revenues of 155 million PLN and a profit of over 32 million PLN, and later added a prefab concrete block factory under the Natrix brand.

Preliminary Fire Investigation

Prosecutor Katarzyna Wankiewicz told “Fakt” that the fire started in a room containing partially burnt electrical equipment. An expert will determine the exact cause. Autopsies of victims are scheduled for Wednesday, 26 November.
