Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Paulina Hennig-Kłoska Compete for Poland 2050 Leadership

Szymon Hołownia, who has been the leader of Poland 2050, stated that he is handing over responsibility for further decisions regarding the group to other politicians. The second round of elections for party chair is scheduled to take place by the end of January.

Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, head of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and Paulina Hennig-Kłoska, head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, are running for this position. The elections will be repeated because the result of the previous vote was invalidated due to a technical failure.

Poland 2050 MP: First Round May Also Need to Be Repeated

RMF FM has established that although the National Council of Poland 2050 decided to repeat only the second round of elections, the party has 24 election protests to consider, which also concern the first round.

Poland 2050 MP Agnieszka Buczyńska stated: “We must thoroughly review all protests and make the appropriate decision as to whether the first round of elections is still valid. At this time, we cannot rule out the scenario that this first round will also have to be repeated, but everything is in the hands of the National Council. For now, however, we are sticking to the scenario that the elections will take place on January 31.”
