New Overtime Rules Effective
On January 1 of this year, new, more favorable rules for calculating overtime pay for teachers came into effect.
Retroactive Implementation
The amendment to the Teacher’s Charter of November 21, 2025, gave these rules retroactive effect from September 1 of last year, reversing the previous changes that were unacceptable to the teaching community.
Compensation Deadline
By February 6 of this year, all schools and educational institutions must recalculate previously paid salaries and provide compensation to teachers for overtime hours.
