A 17-year-old from Ostrołęka County was airlifted to a hospital on April 3rd after losing control of a quad and colliding with a tree.

Accident Details

A 17-year-old resident of Ostrołęka County was taken to the hospital after losing control of a quad and hitting a tree. The teenager was transported by a helicopter from the Polish Air Rescue Service (LPR).

On Friday, April 3rd, the duty officer of the Ostrołęka City Police Headquarters received a report of a road accident in Krysiaki. A patrol from the Ostrołęka traffic police was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Investigation Findings

Preliminary findings indicate the 17-year-old lost control of the quad, veered into a roadside ditch, and then struck a tree. He sustained injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.

Police determined the 17-year-old did not have the necessary permits to operate the vehicle and should not have been driving.

Safety Reminder

Authorities remind the public that quads are not toys and can be very unstable when used improperly, requiring skill, experience, and proper authorization. Misuse can lead to serious accidents.

Appeal to Drivers and Parents

Both drivers and parents are urged to approach the use of these vehicles responsibly. Unfortunately, there are still instances of minors operating quads or scooters without the required permits and preparation.

Do not allow individuals who do not meet age requirements or lack appropriate permits to operate vehicles. Monitor how and where children use these vehicles, as a moment of inattention or irresponsibility can lead to tragedy.

Prioritize the safety of yourself and other road users.
