Teen in Leszno Accused of Assaulting Taxi Driver

A 16‑year‑old in Leszno was accused of violently assaulting a taxi driver who had refused to give him a lift, prompting police action.

Incident Overview

On the night of November 10‑11, a 16‑year‑old assaulted a taxi driver in Leszno after she declined to give him a lift to a petrol station. The victim, a woman who works as a taxi driver, was beaten and the attacker attempted to force her to keep driving. The victim managed to flee the vehicle and take the keys away.

Volunteer’s Account

The Leszno Foundation for Ukraine released a post by a volunteer, noting that her mother—also the taxi driver—was the victim. According to the post, the teenager hugged her by the hoodie, tried to sit in the driver’s seat, and threatened, “If you don’t take me, son, I’ll drive myself.” She added that the boy shouted abusive insults at her and continued punching her, even when she tried to escape.

Police Response

Police officer Monika Żymełka of the Leszno municipal police confirmed that a report of the assault had been received. She said the case is “multi‑threaded” and will be referred to the family and juvenile courts for further action against the 16‑year‑old.

Victim’s Condition

Medical imaging shows irregular lucency in the lower right rib area that could indicate a fracture fissure without displacement. The victim has bruises and is reportedly in a “terrible psychological state.”
