Former Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus released a statement on Sunday claiming ignorance of the sale of a 87/1 Zabłotnia plot tied to the Central Communication Port project.
Denies Involvement in Sale
Telus said he had no knowledge of the sale of plot 87/1 in Zabłotnia and that no signature of his name appears in the documentation. He added that the parcel is more than six kilometres from the planned CPK route and could be reacquired at market value with no loss to the Treasury.
He also accused the Tusk‑led coalition of blocking the CPK project for nearly two years.
Meetings with Dawtona Over Fruit Crisis
Telus explained that his conversations with Dawtona president Andrzej Wielgomas centred on the soft‑fruit market crisis and a plan to buy back farmers’ produce to prevent losses. He noted that the trade discussions were about the wellbeing of Polish farmers, not about political colours.
He visited the Dawtona facility when the company was opening a new tomato‑processing line to support domestic agricultural processing.
Claim Over Promotional Jam Tubes
Telus said the promotional tubes of fruit jam used in the 2023 election campaign were purchased legally from a third company that also works with Dawtona. He described them as inexpensive promotional items and dismissed the story as a media sensationalism.
He emphasized that the entire matter is a media “drag” and that his actions have always been directed at Polish farmers’ interests.
CPK Cites Land as Essential
According to a CPK spokesperson, the Zabłotnia plot is critical for the high‑speed railway line connecting Warsaw to the Central Communication Port and cannot be bypassed. Acquisition of the land could cost the state dozens of millions of zloty.
Prosecutorial Investigations
The Warsaw district prosecutor’s office opened a probe on 27 October following Wirtualna Polska reports. Polish Waters filed a complaint alleging that the conversion of a natural watercourse into a drainage channel—facilitating the sale of the land—was undertaken without proper analysis.
