Former Minister Robert Telus returns to Law and Justice after investigation finds no evidence of misconduct in land sale controversy.
Party Reinstatement
Robert Telus, former Minister of Agriculture and Law and Justice member, has been reinstated in the party following an internal investigation. “From the beginning, I knew I was innocent and in this matter there were and are no charges,” Telus stated in an interview with “Fakt”.
President Kaczyński maintained confidence in Telus throughout the process. “The president had no doubts, he trusted that everything was in order, but he had to check it. He is relentless in this regard,” Telus noted.
Land Sale Controversy
In October 2025, Wp.pl revealed that during PiS governance in 2023, 160 hectares of state land in Zabłotnia, Mazovia, was sold to a private company’s vice president for less than 23 million zlotys. The land was intended for infrastructure related to the CPK project.
The prosecutor’s office is investigating the matter. The controversial plot was ultimately resold to the State Treasury in December 2025. Both Telus and former Deputy Minister Rafał Romanowski were suspended from the party in autumn 2025 due to their alleged connections to the deal.
Officials’ Defenses
Robert Telus maintained his innocence throughout, stating: “I had no knowledge of the sale of plot 87/1 in Zabłotnia. Not a single one of my signatures appears in the documents concerning this matter, this case never reached my desk.”
Rafał Romanowski defended his stance, declaring: “I have always spoken out for the protection of state land from being sold off.” He emphasized that “I consider lands belonging to the State Treasury to be a strategic national resource that should be protected.”
