Police in Warsaw arrested a 24-year-old suspect two days after an armed robbery at a shop where he threatened staff with a knife.
Arrest Following Armed Robbery
Two days after receiving a report of an armed robbery, criminal investigators from Praga Południe detained a suspect. The 24-year-old committed the offense as a repeat offender. At the request of the Warsaw-Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office, the court applied temporary arrest to the suspect.
The 24-year-old was taken to a police cell. Investigators gathered extensive evidence, and based on it, the man heard charges of committing armed robbery in the prosecutor’s office.
Incident Details
According to the report, a man entered the shop holding a knife and threatening the shop assistant, taking cash, alcohol, cigarettes, and lottery coupons. The woman managed to escape from the shop and lock the perpetrator inside. However, he escaped through a window designated for night sales.
Police Investigation
Criminal investigators immediately began actions and investigations upon receiving the robbery report. The police did not relent in their actions, step by step analyzing the entire incident, securing evidence, and verifying all available and acquired information.
Thanks to their thoroughness and great alertness, they literally tracked down the suspect. As a result of the surveillance conducted within two days of the incident, they arrested the 24-year-old.
Evidence and Charges
During the search of the basement, they secured not only the clothing he was wearing during the robbery, but also part of the loot, alcohol, and tobacco products. The proceedings in this case are supervised by the Warsaw-Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office.
