‘The Doll’ Film Shoot Commences on Krakowskie Przedmieście; Two-Week Closure

Filming for a new cinematic version of Bolesław Prus’s “The Doll” has begun on Krakowskie Przedmieście, with traffic to be halted from October 9 to the end of the month.

Film shoot underway on Krakowskie Przedmieście

Filming is underway for a new cinematic adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s “The Doll” on Krakowskie Przedmieście, in front of Staszic Palace where the Stasik Wokulski shop is located.

Thanks to Prus, the historic boulevard becomes an authentic film set, and characters such as Stasik Wokulski and Ignacy Rzecki can be encountered around the Ujazdów avenues and Palace Square. The newly opened Wokulski shop offers patrons a touch of the novel’s world.

Pedestrian traffic suspended on Trakt Królewski

From Thursday, October 9, the film crew will close the stretch of Trakt Królewski between Królewska and Świętokrzyska, halting pedestrian and driver access in that area.

During shoots, pedestrians will be stopped, and drivers will be prohibited from parking on Oboźna and Kopernica streets near the Nicolaus Copernicus monument. The closure will last until Wednesday, October 22.

Extended closure, bus detours until end of October

In addition to daily closures, all traffic on Trakt Królewski from Miodowa to Świętokrzyska—also every weekend—will be closed until the end of October.

Buses lines 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, 503, E‑2, and N44 will operate detours on weekdays, proceeding from Królewska via Małachowskiego and Mazowiecka squares to Świętokrzyska before continuing their routes.
