Two thieves fleeing Carabinieri officers near Naples, Italy, mistakenly ran onto the grounds of a police station and were immediately arrested.
Carabinieri Pursuit Leads to Unexpected Arrest
Two thieves attempting to evade Carabinieri officers in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, near Naples, inadvertently ended up on the grounds of a Carabinieri station.
The pair had stolen a parked car and spotted a police patrol conducting checks, prompting them to flee. After reaching a dead end, they jumped a fence, believing they had escaped, only to find themselves in the station’s courtyard.
Repeat Offenders’ Unlucky Streak
The thieves were apprehended immediately upon entering the Carabinieri station’s grounds.
Just eight days prior, the same two men were arrested for stealing a car of the same make while attempting to evade police, but forgot to remove the steering wheel lock and crashed.
Prior Arrests for Theft and Burglary
Authorities confirmed that the men had been arrested multiple times previously for theft and burglary offenses.
