On Thursday evening, a car hit a cyclist at the Puławska–Dolinka Służewicka junction in Ursynów, the third such incident in the area within three days.
Incident Details
Investigations indicate the Seat’s driver, an older man, was descending Puławska, travelling from the Piaseczna side and turning onto Dolinka Służewicka toward General Sikorski Avenue. Simultaneously, a cyclist was crossing the dedicated cycle lane that intersects the vehicle’s trajectory. The collision occurred when the car struck the bicycle, leaving the cyclist as the most severely injured party.
Emergency Response
Fire, medical, and police units were dispatched immediately to the scene. Firefighters secured the site; medical staff treated the cyclist on the spot before transporting him to a hospital. Initial reports state the cyclist’s injuries are not life‑threatening, though further hospital diagnostics are required.
Police Investigation
The Seat driver remained at the scene while police carried out procedural duties, inspecting the collision site, photographing the vehicle and surrounding area, and taking necessary measurements. Preliminary findings will help reconstruct the event and determine the parties’ responsibilities, with a focus on potential traffic safety violations.
Previous Accident
On 10 November at approximately 17:00, a cyclist traveling toward Ursynów was struck by a Citroën taxi on the same junction. The cyclist was hospitalized in serious condition after the accident, with alcohol odor detected on him; blood was collected for testing. The taxi driver was reportedly sober.
Road Safety Concerns
Police highlighted that the Puławska–Dolinka intersection experiences heavy traffic from both motorists and cyclists. The cycle path crosses the vehicular lane, demanding heightened caution from all road users. Authorities plan to continue investigations and analyze evidence from recent incidents in the area.
