On Wednesday, October 15, media reports revealed that three bodies were found in a house in Barcice, a village near Nowy Sącz in Lesser Poland. The victims were a 52‑year‑old woman and two men aged 45 and 66. Police received the first report after 7 a.m. and Polsat News confirmed that injuries were noted on the bodies.

25‑Year‑Old Arrested

The police say they are not ruling out the involvement of third parties in the incident. Large forces have been deployed to locate a 25‑year‑old who also lives in the area, Deputy Chief Justyna Basiaga of the Nowy Sącz City Police Command told Polsat News. The family of the victims is devastated; they are doing everything possible to help them, said village head Tomasz Koszkul in an interview with Gazeta Krakowska.

At the crime scene, police are divided among surveying the area, interviewing witnesses, and maintaining the cordon. The suspected perpetrator has fled but may be hiding nearby. An investigative team under the prosecutor’s supervision is conducting the operation. TVN24 spokesperson Katarzyna Cisło said the 25‑year‑old was found in an abandoned building and is the son of one of the victims. The suspect has been arrested; authorities are determining whether he is the perpetrator and what he knows about the crime.
