Three‑Car Crash on S2 Causes Major Traffic Delays

A head‑on collision of a Ford with trailer, a Lexus and a Volvo on the S2 southbound near Opacz on Dec 11 slammed a commute, injuring a woman and halting traffic for over half an hour.

Crash Details

Before 12:00 on Dec 11, a Ford towing a trailer, a Lexus and a Volvo collided on the S2 toward Konotop between A. Krakowska and the Opacz junction. The Lexus struck the reinforced concrete barriers on the left lane after the Ford’s trailer forced it off course, then hit the Volvo and the barriers.

Emergency Response

All rescue units were dispatched. Firefighters isolated the site, cut power to the vehicles and checked for fluid leaks. Medical teams examined the woman inside the Lexus, who suffered injuries but did not require hospital transfer and remained at the scene.

Traffic Disruption

Both southbound lanes were closed, leaving only the emergency lane open. Drivers had to detour around the collision, creating significant slow‑downs and forming traffic jams on the S2 for several minutes.

Investigation Findings

Police preliminarily attribute the collision to an improper lane change by the Ford driver. The incident has been classified as a road collision, with authorities continuing the investigation.
