31‑year‑old Polish man in Warsaw was found driving an unsafe Opel with seat belts unfastened, while under three court‑issued driving bans.
Unlawful Drive With Untied Seatbelts
At about 20:00, a Białołęka patrol stopped an Opel driver who had no seat belts fastened. The vehicle was also found to be defective. Police seized the car and checked the driver’s sobriety.
Court Bans and Repeat Offender
The driver had three court‑issued bans on operating any mechanical vehicle from 2024 and 2025. He admitted knowing of the bans yet drove anyway. His criminal record includes multiple prison terms, the most recent ending in May 2025.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
He was taken to the police detention center at Jagiellońska Street, Warsaw. Investigators reviewed his file and brought him before the Warsaw Praga‑North District Court under accelerated procedure. The court sentenced him to three months of absolute imprisonment, issued a ten‑year ban on all mechanical vehicles, and ordered a 5,000 PLN payment to victim assistance funds.
Sentencing and Damages
In addition to the prison term, the court levied a substantial fine for the violations committed.
