Three Crashes, Six Minutes, and Three Promille: Drunken Driver’s Path of Destruction

A 39-year-old man, intoxicated with over 3 promille of alcohol, caused three consecutive collisions along national road 62 near Wyszków on May 25, 2026, before being apprehended by police.

A reckless spree on road K62

Before reaching his home, a 39-year-old Mazda driver caused three separate collisions. The man, who was found to be severely intoxicated, has already had his driving license revoked and now faces up to three years in prison, a long-term driving ban, and heavy financial penalties.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Wyszków police station received a report regarding a Mazda driver on national road 62 who had struck another vehicle and fled the scene. Officers tracked the driver to a private property, where he was identified by one of the victims.

A timeline of multiple collisions

Police investigations confirmed that the driver caused three accidents within a few minutes while under the influence of over 3 promille of alcohol. The first incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. in Somianka, where the Mazda side-swiped an Audi during an unsafe maneuver.

Two minutes later, in Michalino, the driver struck the rear of a Toyota due to failing to maintain a safe distance. The third collision occurred in Kręgi Nowe, where the Mazda rear-ended a Mercedes. No participants sustained injuries in these incidents.

Legal and financial consequences

The 39-year-old faces charges for driving under the influence and endangering public safety. Beyond potential imprisonment and a driving ban, authorities have initiated procedures for the forfeiture of his vehicle.

While insurance companies cover damages to victims in such cases, they may exercise the right of recourse to reclaim these funds from the intoxicated driver. This leaves the offender facing both criminal prosecution and severe financial liability.
