Three Months’ Detention for 36‑Year‑Old on Charges of Bodily Harm to a Public Officer, Property Damage and Abuse

A 36‑year‑old man was arrested in Sierpc after assaulting a school parent meeting, injuring staff and damaging cars, and was ordered by a court to spend three months in temporary detention.

Arrest and Charges

A 36‑year‑old resident of Szczutowo was arrested by Sierpc police for violating the bodily integrity of a public officer. He has already been charged and faces up to 7½ years in prison. The court imposed a temporary detention of three months.

Incident at Primary School

The incident occurred on Monday, 17 November at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of Gójsk Elementary School in Szczutowo municipality. The shift commander of the Sierpc unit received a report of a disturbance during a parent‑teacher meeting.

Aggression Erupts

When officers arrived, they found that one participant had behaved inappropriately and was removed from the meeting, provoking aggression. As he left the school corridor, the man struck a 41‑year‑old woman in the face and pushed the school director, who fell and hit the wall, sustaining injuries.

Injured Staff

Both women sustained injuries causing health impairment for less than seven days.

Vehicle Damage

The police discovered that the aggrieved man damaged two vehicles parked in the school lot, with estimated losses of about 2,400 zł.

Alcoholic Impairment

Drug testing revealed the defendant was under the influence of alcohol, with a breath alcohol content of almost 0.8 ‰.

Prior Offences

Investigators found the arrested individual had previously been convicted of violating the bodily integrity of a medical emergency responder.

Charges Filed

Based on the collected evidence, the man faces charges including abuse, bodily harm to a public officer and property damage.

Court Decision

Under the Criminal Code, he could be sentenced to up to 7½ years’ imprisonment. On Thursday, 20 November, a court applied a preventive measure of temporary detention for three months.
