A speeding Ford driver threw a safe with cash and a phone from his car during a police chase near Warsaw before being arrested.
Police Chase and Arrest
Police from Piaseczno described an intervention that took place in the Tarczyn commune near Warsaw. A Ford driver, traveling at excessive speed, failed to stop for a road check. During the pursuit, he threw a safe with cash and a mobile phone out of his car window. Police quickly detained the 24-year-old resident of the Malopolskie province.
Seized Evidence
During a search of the 24-year-old’s car, police found a hammer and license plates suspected to be stolen. They also secured the items thrown from the vehicle during the escape – a mobile phone and a safe containing 80,000 Polish zlotys. Police believe the suspect attempted to dispose of these items as they were also obtained through criminal activity.
Attempted Murder Charges
It was revealed that the detained man was wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonki in connection with an incident at a prestigious hotel. Police reported that the 24-year-old entered the hotel with a knife and attempted to kill one of the guests. During a scuffle, the victim was stabbed twice. The man has been charged with attempted murder and faces life imprisonment. The court has ordered a three-month detention for the suspect at the request of the prosecution.
