According to the tabloid Bild, the tiger belonged to animal trainer Carmen Zander, known as the “Queen of Tigers.” Reports from dpa indicate that there have been prior complaints regarding the conditions at the trainer’s facility.

The Leipzig newspaper Volksstimme, which first reported the incident, stated that the tiger injured one of the trainer’s assistants on Sunday afternoon. The man sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the tiger did not attack any other people or animals during its escape. All remaining tigers belonging to the trainer are currently secured in their cages.
