The investigation into the murder of 24-year-old Klaudia K. in Toruń is nearing its conclusion. Prosecutors announced Friday that psychiatric evaluations determined Yomeykert R.-S., the suspect in the case, is mentally competent and able to stand trial.

Expert Psychiatric Evaluation

A comprehensive opinion was prepared by four specialists: two psychiatrists and a sexologist. The defense attorney has reviewed the report, and the victim’s family has been informed, though they have not yet fully analyzed its details.

Details of the Crime

The 20-year-old Venezuelan citizen is accused of killing Klaudia K. on June 12th of last year, around 1:10 AM in Glazja Park, Toruń. Investigators allege he inflicted dozens of knife wounds to her head, neck, and chest, resulting in her death in hospital.

Yomeykert R.-S. also faces a second charge: threatening another man with a knife on the night of April 11-12 in Toruń. He allegedly brandished a knife at P.G. and then made a throat-slitting gesture while looking at him through a window.

Suspect’s Silence

The suspect has refused to comment on the charges against him and has exercised his right to remain silent, declining to answer questions.

Investigation Timeline

The investigation, along with the suspect’s detention, has been extended to early June. While the case is nearing completion, parties can still submit evidentiary requests.
