Toyota Slides from Embankment onto Warsaw Commuter Railway Tracks

On 25 November at about 9 a.m., a Toyota slid down a snowy embankment under the Alei Jerozolimskich viaduct and stopped beside Warsaw Commuter Railway tracks.

Incident Location and Time

Today, 25 November, around 9 a.m., under the viaduct of Alei Jerozolimskich, at the height of the WKD stop Aleje Jerozolimskie in Warsaw, an unusual road incident involving a Toyota passenger car occurred, as the vehicle slid down a steep, snow‑covered slope toward the Warsaw Commuter Railway tracks.

Loss of Vehicle Traction

According to information received, the driver was maneuvering on a snow‑covered embankment beneath the Alei Jerozolimskich viaduct when the vehicle lost traction and slid down the slope, coming to rest directly adjacent to the WKD tracks.

The situation posed a potential danger due to the proximity of railway infrastructure and the regular train traffic operating in the area.

Rescue Operation

The car could not get moving on its own, so the driver required rescue services. A single fire‑brigade crew was dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the site and then used a vehicle winch to pull the Toyota back onto the road, removing the hazard for both railway traffic and the vehicle itself.

No Disruption to Train Service

During the entire operation there was no need to halt Warsaw Commuter Railway traffic. Trains passed the incident, only briefly slowing to ensure safety during the rescue under the viaduct. The fire brigade’s actions ended with the vehicle being extracted onto the road and released for departure.
