Traffic Blocked After Head-On Collision Between BMW and Passenger Toyota

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision on ul. Hynka on January 19, blocking traffic toward al. Krakowska.

Accident Details

On Monday, January 19, after 20:00 on ul. Hynka, traveling from ul. Żwirki i Wigury toward al. Krakowska, a serious collision of three vehicles occurred after the intersection with ul. Radarowa. Two people were injured, and the lane toward al. Krakowska was blocked.

Collision Sequence

According to preliminary findings, the driver of a BMW car, traveling toward ul. Żwirki i Wigury from al. Krakowska, lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed the green strip and went onto the opposite lane, where it collided with an oncoming Toyota Prius.

Impact and Injuries

The force of the impact was so great that the Toyota then also hit a city bus. As a result of the accident, two people were injured: the Toyota driver and the BMW driver. Both were taken to hospitals by medical rescue teams.

Emergency Response

Fire crews were also at the scene – firefighters secured the area, disconnected the batteries from the vehicles, and neutralized operating fluids. Police also conducted investigative activities to determine the exact course of events.

Traffic Impact

During the services, ul. Hynka in the direction of al. Krakowska remained blocked. Traffic was redirected to detours, including ul. Radarowa, which caused significant traffic disruptions, also for municipal transport. According to WTP, “Due to the blocked crossing on ul. Hynka/Radarowa, buses of lines 141, 189, 401 traveling toward the terminus: Oś. Górczewska, P+R Al. Krakowska, Ursus-Niedźwiadek were redirected to detour routes following the following sequences: … – Żwirki i Wigury – Komitetu Obrony Robotników – Al. Krakowska – Łopuszańska … to their routes.”
