Four vehicles collided on the S8 Grot-Rowecki Wednesday evening, blocking the transit lane to Poznań.
The Accident
At approximately 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 18, on the S8 route at the Grot-Rowecki Bridge, four vehicles – a Toyota, Ford, Skoda, and a Volkswagen bus – collided on the transit lane heading toward Poznań.
Preliminary information indicates that a stationary Citroen was blocking the left lane of the transit lane, causing the four vehicles behind it to collide with each other.
Emergency Response
Three fire brigades and four medical rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. During rescue operations, the transit lane toward Poznań was completely blocked, as well as one left lane of the local lane in the same direction. Difficulties also emerged on the opposite side of the Vistula, with one left lane of the transit lane to Marki blocked.
Aftermath
Despite significant damage to the vehicles, no injuries were reported among the participants after examination by medical rescue teams.
Firefighters began removing damaged vehicles and cleaning the transit lane around 7:30 PM. Traffic disruptions continued as heavily damaged cars, numerous accident debris, and spilled operating fluids remained at the scene.
