Traffic Rules Around Warsaw Cemeteries on All Saints and All Souls’ Days

On 1 and 2 November, Warsaw will redirect traffic around its cemeteries, prioritizing public transport, converting specific streets into parking, and launching 26 special bus routes.

Public Transport Priority

City traffic will give buses, trams and taxis priority on selected streets, while cars will be limited to driving toward the cemetery. Only vehicles with special permits—“H” for traders, “T” for disabled and local workers, “M” for municipal, state and diplomatic services—may use designated lanes.

Regular bus and tram lines will operate more frequently and with larger vehicles. New bus stops will be added close to each cemetery, and “on‑demand” stops scheduled for 1–2 November will become permanent, where buses will stop without requiring passenger signalling.

Road Closures and One‑Way Rotations

Major streets will be shut or converted to one‑way traffic on 1–2 November. For example, Wóycicki street from Pułkowa to Żubrówka allows only traffic heading toward the cemetery, and left turns from Pułkowa into Dzierżoniowska are prohibited.

Similar restrictions apply to other roads, limiting parking and permitting exclusive use for cemetery access. Parking will exist only on designated streets such as Matka Teresa z Kalkuty (between Rembielińska and Ogiński) and Wysockiego (from Bartnicza to Syrokomła).

Cemetery‑Specific Restrictions

Each cemetery has tailored rules: the northern gate can be reached via Wóycicki street from the Pułkowa side, the western gate by Estrada, and the southern gate by Estrada and Wólczyńska. At the Bródnowski cemetery, the special lines run only on all‑nighte and Wólczyńska streets, while at the Powązkowski cemetery parking is available on Maczka, Powązkowska, Okopowa, Elbląska, Tatarska, and Ostroróg.

Other cemeteries, such as Rembertów–Marysin and Tarchomin, have specific street closures: Mehoffera street is closed from Ordonówna to Myśliborska, and Venderville is restricted to access toward the cemetery only.

Special Routes and Parking

Twenty‑six special cemetery bus lines will operate, allowing passengers to reach the gates easily. Parking at the cemetery gates is permitted only in the designated areas; all other streets will enforce a no‑stop rule. Law enforcement officers will direct the traffic flow throughout the event.
