Woman’s Body Found in Central Warsaw
According to Miejski Reporter, services received a report on Friday, January 30, at around 8:30 AM. A woman’s body was found in bushes at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 6 in central Warsaw. Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed the death of a 57-year-old.
Police Preliminary Findings
Miejski Reporter reported on police’s first findings. They indicate that the woman was a person experiencing homelessness. It was reported that she lived outdoors and repeatedly slept on cardboard boxes at the place where her body was found, covered with a blanket and a jacket. Officers preliminarily assume that the 57-year-old may have died of hypothermia.
Rising Hypothermia Deaths in Poland
On Saturday, police reported that since early November, 36 people have died of hypothermia in Poland. The Metropolitan Police Command received the autopsy results of two people who died in recent days. It was determined that hypothermia was the cause of their deaths.
Police Appeal for Public Assistance
The Metropolitan Police Command stated that Warsaw officers “continuously carry out actions aimed at preventing tragic incidents related to hypothermia.” They emphasized that people should call emergency number 112 if they see anyone who might need help during severe cold weather, noting that “one phone call from us can save someone’s life!”
