Tragic Accident in Wola: Toyota Passenger Killed, Mercedes Driver Drunk

After midnight on December 25, a Toyota collision in Wola, Warsaw, killed a passenger and left others injured after a 22‑year‑old Mercedes driver, under the influence, crashed into it.

Collision Sequence

A 22‑year‑old Mercedes driver collided with a Toyota at the toll plaza on Al. Prymasa Tysiąclecia, sending the Toyota off course into barriers, onto a light pole and viaduct supports, while the Mercedes struck tunnel walls.

Victims

The Toyota carried two female passengers. Firefighters extracted a 31‑year‑old woman and a 66‑year‑old woman who had no life signs; the latter died after receiving field resuscitation. A 62‑year‑old Toyota driver and a 31‑year‑old passenger were also hospitalized and survived.

Perpetrator

The Mercedes driver, a 22‑year‑old male, was intoxicated with nearly 2‰ BAC. After the collision he attempted to flee but was apprehended by witnesses and handed over to police.

Response

Al. Prymasa Tysiąclecia toward Ochota was closed for several hours. Fire brigade units, the city operational group, medical rescue teams, and police—under prosecutor supervision—worked to investigate the incident.
