Head‑on collision on road 252
A 36‑year‑old man was driving a BMW when it struck a Ford driven by a 30‑year‑old woman who was accompanied by her four‑year‑old child.
The impact was so strong that both occupants of the Ford sustained serious injuries. A police officer, Aspirant Izabella Drobniecka, stated that rapid rescue operations were launched at the scene. Unfortunately, the child did not survive; the mother was transported to the hospital in a critical condition.
Police investigate child’s death
At the scene, police and prosecutors examined the circumstances. According to Agnieszka Adamska‑Okońska, the spokesperson for the Inowrocław prosecutor’s office, the child was seated on a special car‑seat stand, not in a child safety seat, and was presumably buckled in a seat belt.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the precise causes of the tragedy.
