Police closed a search on Tuesday, 4 November, after finding the body of a 62‑year‑old missing resident of Rzekuń in the Narew River, with no third‑party involvement suspected.

Search Finally Yields Body

On Tuesday, 4 November, a man’s body was recovered from the Narew River during an ongoing search operation. Police worked under the supervision of a prosecutor, and preliminary assessments ruled out any involvement of third parties.

Nationwide Search Effort

The search began after the disappearance was reported on 19 October. It involved officers from Ostrołęka, the Search and Identification Department of KWP in Radom, firefighters and rescuers from Piaseczna, and soldiers from the 2nd Radioelectronics Center in Przasnysz. Specialized equipment, including off‑road vehicles, was deployed to tackle the challenging terrain.

Extensive Ground Patrols

Authorities closely analyzed incoming information and verified every detail that could influence the case. More than 700 hectares of land, including difficult‑access riparian zones, were thoroughly searched. Operations resumed this morning with dozens of officers and rescuers on the scene.

Immediate Investigation Steps

The discovery site was secured, and investigative procedures are proceeding under prosecutor oversight. Current findings indicate no external parties contributed to the victim’s death, and further details will emerge from planned investigations.

Gratitude for Community Support

Officials highlighted the scale and speed of the effort, thanking all participants—including local residents who provided helpful information—for their contribution to the search.
