On Sunday, November 30, a dog that rode alone on a Mazovia Railway train was found at Ciechanów station and was escorted to a shelter by local police before being reunited with its owner.

Train‑Riding Incident

Police in Ciechanów received a report at about 9:20 a.m. that a dog had boarded a train on the Mława‑Warsaw line by itself. The animal disembarked at Ciechanów station.

Upon arrival, officers found the dog calm, neither aggressive nor frightened, and it comfortably occupied the passenger seat when the police opened the radio van door.

Police Care and Shelter Transfer

The officers took the dog to the Pawłów animal shelter, where it received care and was later claimed by its owner, ending the episode on a positive note.

Police will investigate how the dog managed to leave its owners and the conditions under which it was found.

Reminder of Pet‑Owner Responsibilities

The police warned pet owners that animals must be secured so they cannot escape onto public roads. Improper containment can lead to road incidents, bites, or other dangerous events.

Owners are reminded that negligence may result in criminal liability under Article 77 of the Polish Code of Offences.
