Incident on the Tracks
A train traveling from Terespol to Warsaw West collided with a 25‑year‑old man on the tracks near the PKP Nowe Dębe Wielkie station in the Minsk Mazowiecki district in the early hours. The victim died at the scene.
Immediate Response
Police, fire brigade and medical rescue teams were dispatched immediately to the scene. The tracks were secured and emergency procedures followed; medical personnel confirmed death, while police and firefighters kept the area safe for other rail users.
Investigation Under Prosecution Supervision
The prosecutor’s office is conducting a thorough investigation, including securing the scene, photographing evidence, interviewing the locomotive driver and potential witnesses, and analysing the train’s log files. The full identity of the victim will be established and his family notified.
Disruption to Railway Operations
During the investigation, train schedules on the line were adjusted, causing possible delays and changes to the timetable. Full capacity of the tracks was restored only after all investigative work was completed at the site.
PKP Notice of Possible Delay
PKP informs that an incident involving passenger train no. 1124/5 on the Terespol‑Warsaw West route may cause a delay. Ticket mutual recognition was arranged between PKP Intercity and Koleje Mazowieckie for the affected area. Apologies were offered for the inconvenience.
