Train Passenger Loses Consciousness. Senator Saved His Life

Senator and cardiologist Agnieszka Gorgoń-Komor saved a train passenger who lost consciousness during a journey, stopping the train at Włoszczowa station for medical assistance.

Senator Provides Assistance to Passenger

Senator Ryszard Brejza of the KO party shared on social media that Senator Agnieszka Gorgoń-Komor, a cardiologist, “saved the life of a passenger who lost consciousness during a train journey” while traveling to the Senate on Wednesday. “My colleague, who is a doctor, quickly restored blood circulation to the unconscious man, stopped the train at the station in Włoszczowa, and handed over the patient to the medical rescue team,” Brejza wrote.

“Anyone Can Save a Life”

“In this entire situation, great appreciation is due to the people who also provided help, whose names I unfortunately did not learn: the nurse traveling on the train and the PKP Intercity crew,” reacted Agnieszka Gorgoń-Komor. She added, “a happy ending to the action would not have been possible without the lightning-fast and professional reaction of the conductors of EIC 4504 Bielsko-Biała – Gdynia Główna.” “This situation is clear proof that thanks to first aid, any of us can save a life,” she emphasized.

First Aid Principles

Guidelines for providing first aid can be found on the government’s pacjent.gov.pl website.

What to Do When Someone is Unconscious

If a person is unconscious but breathing, they should be placed in the recovery position. If they are not breathing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be started as quickly as possible and continued until the person regains consciousness or emergency services arrive.
