A man was fatally struck by a Kolei Mazowieckie train near Warsaw Zoo station on Monday, May 4th, around 8:30 PM.
Incident Details
On Monday, May 4th, at approximately 8:30 PM, a tragic incident occurred on the tracks near Warsaw Zoo station. A man entered the track area in front of a Kolei Mazowieckie train traveling from Warsaw Zachodnia to Mława.
The incident involved train number 15409, operated by Kolei Mazowieckie – KM Spółka z o.o., departing from Platform 9 at Warsaw Zachodnia station and heading to Mława.
Emergency Response
Emergency medical services and police were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, approximately 150 meters from the station, they found the man deceased in an area where crossing the tracks is prohibited.
Medical personnel were unable to provide assistance, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police conducted further investigations under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
Traffic Disruption
Railway traffic on the affected section was suspended due to the emergency response. Disruptions lasted until the completion of on-site procedures, at 11:45 PM.

PKP reported: “Warsaw Gdańska – Warsaw Praga. Accident involving a person and train 15405 (Koleje Mazowieckie – KM Spółka z o.o.) from Warsaw Zachodnia platform 9 to Mława. Train delays of approximately 20 minutes are possible. Selected trains will be routed via Warsaw Wschodnia. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
WTP also announced: “Due to an incident near Warsaw Zoo station, disruptions are occurring in the operation of SKM lines S4 and S40 and KM trains. Possible delays, cancellations, and diversions. Selected trains may be routed through Warszawa Śródmieście station.”
