Train to Warsaw Emergency Stopped After Bomb Threat

A train heading to Warsaw was halted Friday, March 27th, near Łowicz after a passenger reported a suspected explosive device.

Passenger Reports Bomb Threat, Triggers Evacuation

Łódź Provincial Police Command reported the incident on March 27th. The man who activated the emergency brake left the train and reported a suitcase containing an explosive device.

The bag contained personal belongings of one of the passengers.

Evacuation and Search at Łowicz Station

Passengers were evacuated from Łowicz station while bomb disposal experts inspected the abandoned luggage. The bag was found to contain personal items belonging to a passenger.

Suspect Detained

Police detained a 22-year-old Polish citizen in connection with the incident.

Investigation Ongoing, No Link to Diversion

Police have established that the information regarding the alleged explosive device was provided by a 22-year-old Polish citizen. Officers detained the man in the Kutno district.

Authorities have stated that the incident is not currently linked to an act of sabotage. Investigators are continuing their work.
