Tram Collides with Audi on Białołęka Street, Driver Hospitalized

On Wednesday 26 November after 6 p.m., a line 4 tram collided with an Audi on Annopol Street in Białołęka, sending the driver to hospital.

Collision details

At about 18:00 on 26 November, a line 4 tram was heading toward the Mokotów depot when an Audi, exiting a private plot onto Annopol Street, entered the rail track and struck the tram from the left side.

Immediate response

Services, tram traffic supervision and police were dispatched. The Audi driver received first aid on site and was taken to hospital for further diagnostics. The tram driver and other occupants were not hospitalized.

Investigation

Police are examining how the car entered the track and the traffic organization around the plot from which it departed, to determine the precise circumstances of the collision.

Traffic disruption

Line 4 tram traffic was temporarily blocked until around 19:00, when the track section was cleared and normal service resumed after a few minutes of delay. Lines 1 and 4 were affected during the incident.

Historical context

Incidents of this type are not uncommon in the area, with similar collisions frequently occurring on Annopol Street.
