Collision between bus line 189 and Toyota car blocks tram traffic for several dozen minutes at Mokotów intersection.
Incident Details
On Monday, February 9, after 09:30, at the intersection of Sobieskiego and Św. Bonifacego streets, there was a collision between municipal bus line 189 and a Toyota passenger car. From preliminary findings, the driver of the Toyota, while turning left, forced priority on the bus going straight through the intersection.
Emergency Response
Fire brigade, medical rescue team and police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the scene and disconnected the battery in the passenger car. Medical rescuers examined the participants – no one was injured in the incident.
Tram Disruption and Resolution
For several dozen minutes, tram traffic was halted as the vehicles involved in the collision were blocking the tracks. After determining that no one needed medical assistance, the vehicles were moved and tram traffic was resumed.
Public Transport Impact
As reported by WTP: “Disruptions in the operation of lines 14, 16 and 19. Due to a road incident at the JANA III SOBIESKIEGO / ŚW.BONIFACEGO intersection, there are disruptions in the operation of these lines. Possible delays and rerouting to detour routes. Line 14 towards MIASTECZKO WILANÓW has been rerouted to the SIELCE terminal.”
