Trees Fall on Homes in Warsaw Amid Strong Winds

Strong winds caused trees to collapse onto single-family homes in Warsaw’s Wawer district on Monday, prompting fire department intervention.

Strong Winds Impact Warsaw

Strong winds have been affecting Warsaw residents since morning. In Wawer, on Rzeźbiarska and VIII Poprzeczna streets, trees fell onto single-family homes.

A yellow alert from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) is in effect for strong winds in the capital until 9 PM, with gusts forecast to reach 70-85 km/h.

Most Serious Incidents Reported East of the Vistula River

Widespread Emergency Response

Since morning, firefighters throughout Warsaw have been responding to the effects of the strong winds. The Warsaw City State Fire Service has received over 50 reports of fallen trees and other weather-related hazards.

The scale of the response aligns with the forecasts for the capital on Monday, April 6th, when a warning was issued for strong northwesterly winds.
