Incident Details

A 34‑year‑old driver from Lublin region lost control of a cargo truck near kilometer 128 of the S7, colliding with roadside barriers on the right side of the carriageway. The impact caused part of the truck’s load, including hundreds of beer cans, to spill onto the road surface.

Traffic Disruption

The collision blocked both lanes heading towards Gdańsk, creating significant slowdowns and congestion. The disruption was reported to last from 16:36 to 19:36 on December 18 by the GDDKiA traffic information service for the DK7 section between Kazuń Nowy and Płońsk.

Emergency Response

Police, fire brigade and medical rescue teams were deployed at the scene. The driver was transported to hospital for investigation and medical examination.

Roadworks Context

The Szczytniki area is undergoing re‑organisation of traffic as DK7 is upgraded to S7 expressway standards. Notifications advise shifting traffic to temporary or final lanes and observing variable speed limits.
