Truck Crashes Through Newly Refurbished Segment of Poniatowski Bridge Viaduct

On 4 November around 15:50, a truck struck a newly renovated part of the Poniatowski Bridge viaduct near the Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie intersection, prompting police investigation.

Temporary traffic layout in place

Due to the ongoing two‑year viaduct renovation, the rightmost lanes toward Wilanów were closed and traffic rerouted through two left lanes, controlled by traffic lights that were later found non‑functional.

Violation of the newly repaired section

A truck, traveling in the left lane from the Wisłostrada tunnel, collided with the freshly upgraded viaduct, damaging the structure before the driver departed the scene.

Police response and witness interviews

Police were called to the site, conducted preliminary inquiries, and interviewed witnesses; further investigation remains underway.
