Truck Fire Disrupts Traffic on Wisłostrada

A truck fire occurred on Wisłostrada, near Bielany Forest and the UKSW university, in the direction of the city center on Sunday, April 12th, after 9:15 PM.

The fire initially engulfed the cab of the Volvo tractor unit and subsequently spread to part of the trailer.

Emergency Response

Four fire crews, including a city operational group, as well as a medical rescue team and police, were dispatched to the scene.

By the time firefighters arrived, approximately half of the truck’s length was already on fire.

Road Closure and Diversions

Police closed Wisłostrada towards the city center due to rescue operations, with diversions implemented before the North Bridge.

Drivers were directed to use Marymoncka Street, the North Bridge, and General Maria Wittek Avenue as alternative routes.

Extent of Damage and Investigation

The fire did not spread beyond the vehicle, but the damage to the truck was significant.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
