Four fire‑rescue teams were dispatched, conducting extinguishing and containment operations. For the duration of the emergency, traffic toward Warsaw was stopped entirely.

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to access the cab and extricate the injured driver. He was then handed over to the medical rescue team and air‑lifted by the Air Ambulance helicopter to a hospital. Both the tow truck and the Scania were operated by Polish citizens who were sober and licensed at the time of the incident. Police continue to investigate the exact sequence and causes.
