Truck Tire Burst Causes Motorcycle Crash on S2 Highway

A serious accident involving a motorcyclist occurred on the S2 highway near Jaworowa, Pruszków County, this morning. Preliminary findings indicate a tire burst on a truck was the cause, scattering debris across the roadway.

Location and Timing

The incident took place around 8:00 AM on the S2 highway heading towards Wawer, near the Lotnisko interchange. The affected section runs alongside Chopin Airport, between the Opacz and Lotnisko Chopin interchanges.

Sequence of Events

A 65-year-old driver of a DAF truck experienced a tire blowout. Fragments of the tire were thrown onto the road, striking a 55-year-old motorcyclist in the leftmost lane, causing him to lose control. A Toyota vehicle also sustained damage.

Injuries and Response

The motorcyclist, riding a Honda, was transported to a hospital. The driver of the Toyota was unharmed and tested negative for alcohol.

Traffic Disruption and Investigation

Two lanes heading towards Wawer were blocked following the accident. Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
