Trump Claims 48 Top Iranian Officials Killed in Operation

Donald Trump stated 48 high-ranking Iranian officials were killed in an operation against Tehran’s regime, declaring the US is “ahead of schedule.”

Trump Claims High Iranian Casualties

According to Fox News report on March 1, Donald Trump stated that 48 high-ranking representatives of Iranian authorities in Tehran were killed during an operation against the Iranian regime. In an interview with The Atlantic, Trump said “most people died” from the strike.

“Some of those we dealt with died because it was a big strike. They should have done it earlier. They could have made a deal, but they were being clever,” Trump stated, declaring he would talk with new Iranian authorities. “They want to talk and I agreed, so we will talk,” he added.

Operation Against Iran’s Leadership

Trump described Iran as “a very brutal regime, one of the most brutal in history” in a CNBC interview, stating the US is performing its work “not only for us, but for the world.” He said the situation is “evolving in a very positive way,” though ending the conflict depends on many factors.

“We are ahead of schedule,” Trump emphasized regarding the operation that targeted Iranian leadership.

Unconfirmed Reports on Ahmadinejad

The German dpa agency, citing Iran’s ILNA agency, reported that former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (2005-2013) might have been killed in US-Israeli attacks on Tehran. ILNA stated the 69-year-old politician might have been in his residence in eastern Tehran during the attack, but noted it could not confirm the reports.

A close associate of Ahmadinejad denied information about his death. As noted by “Times of Israel,” neither Iran nor Israel has officially confirmed the death of the former president.
