Donald Trump, speaking in Miami on March 27th, recounted a conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, alleging the prince once believed the U.S. was “dead.”
Trump Discusses Iran and Military Strength
Donald Trump spoke at the Future Investment Initiative event in Miami, USA, on Friday, March 27th. He began by addressing the necessity of operations in Iran due to concerns about the country’s nuclear capabilities, and praised the scale of those operations, calling his military “the strongest in the world.”
Trump also called for the opening of the “Trump Strait”—specifying the Strait of Hormuz—and criticized NATO for a lack of engagement with his plans in the Middle East.
“He Didn’t Think He’d Be Kissing My…”
Trump recounted a conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stating the prince initially believed the U.S. was a failing nation. “He looked at me and said, ‘You know, it’s amazing. A year ago, you were a dead country, and now you’re the hottest country in the world.’”
Trump continued, “He didn’t think that would happen. He didn’t think he’d be kissing my… you know. Really. He thought I’d just be another American president who is a loser with a country going down.”
“I Like Being With Losers”
During his speech, Trump repeatedly noted the presence of “a lot of rich people” at the Future Investment Initiative. When asked what leadership quality the world currently lacks, Trump responded “winning,” stating one doesn’t need a lifetime to determine if someone is a winner or a loser.
“It’s good to have a lot of losers. I actually like being with losers, because it makes me feel good. I hate people who have had tremendous success and you have to listen to their stories. I like people who like to listen to my successes,” Trump stated.
Praise for Saudi Leadership
Trump expressed gratitude towards his “friend,” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing him as a “fantastic man” and a “warrior.” He also praised the prince’s father and remarked on having a “great son.”
