Trump Credits US Efforts for Poczobut’s Release, Rejects Iranian Demands

Donald Trump announced the release of Andrzej Poczobut from Belarus, dismissed Iran’s peace conditions as unacceptable, and criticized a court ruling overturning his global tariffs.

Andrzej Poczobut’s Release and Belarusian Cooperation

On Sunday, May 10, Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Andrzej Poczobut has been released from a Belarusian prison. Trump highlighted the role of US Special Envoy to Belarus John Coale and stated that the United States worked intensively to secure the release of detainees.

Trump noted that Polish President Karol Nawrocki requested his assistance during a meeting last September. He added that the US acts for its allies and friends, while thanking Alexander Lukashenko for his cooperation and friendship.

Response to Iranian Demands

Trump reacted to Iran’s response to a US peace proposal, which included demands for war reparations, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, the lifting of sanctions, and full control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Commenting on Truth Social on Sunday evening, Trump described the Iranian representatives’ postulates as “completely unacceptable.”

Criticism of Trade Court Ruling

On Thursday, May 7, the US International Trade Court ruled that the 10% global tariffs introduced by Trump were illegal and ordered their collection to be halted.

Trump claimed the judges “greatly harmed” the USA, asserting that the decision cost the United States $159 billion. He argued that this amount must now be paid to enemies, people, companies, and countries that had cheated the US for years.
