Trump Endorses Orbán, Calls Him a “True Warrior”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump voiced his support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Wednesday, urging Hungarians to vote for him in the April 12th elections.

Trump Rallies Support for Orbán

“He fights tirelessly for his country and people. He loves them just as much as I love the United States,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. He stated Orbán is doing everything possible to protect Hungary, grow its economy, create jobs, promote trade, curb illegal immigration, and maintain law and order.

Trump emphasized that relations between Hungary and the United States have “reached a new level,” and he anticipates further “close cooperation” with Orbán. “I proudly supported Viktor in the 2022 election and am honored to do so again,” he added.

“Hungarians: Go and vote for Viktor Orbán. He is a true friend, warrior, and winner,” Trump declared.

A Path to a Revitalized West

Trump stated that both countries are “pointing the way to a revitalized West” that will protect its citizens, support its children, and lead the world for generations to come.

Previous Endorsements and CPAC Appearance

This is not the first time Trump has endorsed Orbán. He previously recorded a video played at a conservative conference in Budapest, stating, “I would like to send my best wishes to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whom – as you know – I support. He has my complete and total support.”

Acknowledgement of Hungarian Organizers

Trump also thanked the Hungarian organizers of CPAC for their “commitment to common sense and conservative principles and to the common civilization shared by Americans, Hungarians, and Europeans.”

Hungarian Elections

Hungary’s parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 12th. The TISZA party currently leads Orbán’s Fidesz in most independent polls, with a 20-point advantage among decided voters according to a February Median poll.
