US President Donald Trump praised America’s military performance against Iran, giving it a 15 out of 10 rating, claiming Iran would have attacked Israel and then the US.
Trump’s Assessment of Iran War
During a meeting in Washington focused on energy prices, US President Donald Trump stated that “on the military front, the United States is doing very well.” When asked to rate progress on a scale of 1 to 10, he gave himself a strong “15.”
“Someone asked me: on a scale of 10, how would you rate it? I answered, maybe a 15,” said the US president.
Defending America’s Actions
“We will continue to do well. We definitely have the best army in the world, and it was a huge threat for many years. They have been killing our people and people from all over the world for 47 years,” Trump stated.
He added: “I believe that if we hadn’t done this first, they would have done it to Israel, and then – if there was such a possibility – they would have struck us as well.”
Previous “15 out of 10” Statements
This is not the first time Trump has given such a high rating. In June of last year, during a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte after the US attacked Iran, Trump said it was “15 out of 10.”
“We really pulled it off, it was deadly. It was an amazing, well-organized attack,” he said at the time.
US Military Actions
The United States claimed to have bombed Iranian nuclear facilities, with Trump stating that Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were “completely razed to the ground.”
During the 12-day Israeli-Iranian war, the United States used a total of fourteen GBU-57 bombs, which are designed to destroy heavily fortified installations.
Iran’s Attempt to Contact US
The Axios portal reported that during the current war, Iran tried to contact the United States through intermediates in recent days, but Washington did not respond.
“The Iranians relayed messages to the US through countries in the Persian Gulf and other countries in the region. We treated these messages as ordinary nonsense,” said an American official.
Netanyahu’s Concerns
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently sought explanations from the White House after receiving intelligence suggesting US administration officials were communicating with Iran.
Israeli intelligence obtained information that raised suspicions about potential contacts between administration members and Tehran regarding a ceasefire. The White House denied establishing such communication.
“The White House told Bibi that the Trump administration is not talking to Iran behind his back,” a source reported, noting Netanyahu’s government fears a US attempt to establish a ceasefire before all Israeli war objectives are met.
