Trump Announces Iranian Commitment
President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Iran has agreed not to close the Strait of Hormuz again. He stated the waterway “will no longer be used as a weapon against the world.”
Iranian Foreign Minister’s Statement
Earlier Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that all commercial vessels can pass through the Strait of Hormuz for the duration of the ceasefire with the U.S. and Israel. The agreement came into effect on April 8th and is set to last until Wednesday.

Araghchi added that the opening of the Strait of Hormuz is linked to the ceasefire in Lebanon, which began overnight between Thursday and Friday.
