Trump Mulls Canceling Anniversary Concerts After Artist Boycott

As artists withdraw from the upcoming “The Great American State Fair” in Washington D.C., President Trump has threatened to cancel the musical performances in favor of a personal keynote address.

The 250th Anniversary Festival

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, Washington’s National Mall is set to host “The Great American State Fair” from June 25 to July 10. The organization Freedom 250, announced by Trump last year, recently unveiled the initial lineup of performers, including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day & The Time, The Commodores, Vanilla Ice, and Flo Rida.

Since the announcement, several artists have withdrawn from the event, citing concerns over its political associations.

Trump’s Rebuttal and Proposed Rally

On Saturday, May 30, the U.S. President criticized the departing artists, suggesting they were suffering from stage fright. Trump hinted that he might replace the musical acts with his own speech, describing himself as an attraction that draws larger crowds than Elvis in his prime.

Trump stated on Truth Social that he has directed his staff to explore the possibility of hosting an “America is back” rally in the same venue. He noted that the event would be exclusively for “great patriots,” promising a wild celebration of the country.
